In 2006 the Western Hemisphere Initiative went into effect requiring passports for travel to Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. This caused a significant surge in passport applications between 2006 and 2008. Since adult passports are valid for 10 years, all those passports issued during that period are coming up for renewal starting this year. The State Department is expecting a similar surge in passport applications over the next three years. As a result, applicants can expect longer than normal wait times for both routine and expedited service. Our company's service times are not affected and are guaranteed.

You can start the process of getting your passport expedited in a guaranteed timeframe by simply clicking on the passport link above and ordering the type of passport application you need.

The short answer is yes. If you are flying out of the United States, all travelers must have a valid passport to get on the plane and depart. You could be a one week old baby and you would still need a passport to fly out of the country.

If you are driving or cruising out of the country the rules are different. Children under the age of 16 that are driving or cruising out of the country may leave the country with just a certified birth certificate. Age 16 and older still need to have a valid passport.

The new passport design has lots of updates and interesting features. There is an RFID chip in the passport cover that allows customs officials to verify passport data. The bio page of the passport is made out of polycarbonate which allows data to be laser etched onto it and makes forgery much more difficult. The passport number is cut through the pages with laser perforation. And finally there are new inks being utilized which again will make fraud more difficult and also will be tactile to the touch.
